The Company envia Mitteldeutsche Energie AG (enviaM), with its main location in Chemnitz, is the leading enterprise of energy sector in the Eastern Germany.

enviaM was founded in 2002 after the fusion between envia Energie Sachsen Brandenburg AG (envia) and Mitteldeutschen Energieversorgung Aktiengesellschaft (MEAG).The main shareholder of the enterprise is the RWE Plus AG Concern (63,86%). Other shares belong to local municipal companies. enviaM` s activity is territorially focused in the Eastern Germany, but in Poland and in the Czech Republic as well.

enviaM is the owner of shares in 55 companies, acting in following branches: electricity, heat, gas, water/sewage, telecommunication and energy-like services. It employs 3300 workers and educates over 300 apprentices per year. The year company` s turnover is about 1,9 milliards EUR, and electricity sale is at the level of 21 milliard kWh. The area of network is about 26000 square kilometres and it is situated in four new lands of Germany: Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Brandenburg and partly in Thuringia. enviaM supplies 1,6 million of clients of electricity, heat, water, and also it offers services in the scope of sewerage and telecommunication.
